Music on websites? Not really welcome on business web pages
Marketing tells us, that music creates a great atmosphere and helps a brand expand their identity. And it works, in the real world, as long as it isn't Muzak. But how about music on websites? In the digital world it's annoying. It interferes most of the times with other music/video/radio that is playing on a visitors computer. It's a band experience because often the window/tab is not even visible and therefore a hunt for the audible offender is on. Not the best start for delivering a brand.
You want proof, how about this screen capture from a Google Analytics In-Page Analytics. 74% of the clicks on that page go to the Pause Music link.
I rest my case.
BTW: If you want to put music, ok, but let the user OPT-IN.
