I’m happy to see that optical kerning has arrived for webfonts. I still see many designers avoiding optical kerning in print design and I wondered why that is. One reason could be lack of education, but then I discovered another thing. Bad fonts.

Cheap fonts often lack the proper kerning pairs and are made in a way that freaks out the optical kerning algorithms so beware of cheap fonts and use optical kerning whenever it fits.
