Google will stop serving Ads in RSS Feeds – that doesn’t sound bad, but it means that they think that RSS as a consumption medium is no longer relevant. No big news here, but I wonder how long they will keep Feedburner around.
Feedburner was a great product acquired by Google to measure RSS subscribers, but as with RSS – the realtime web made this metric irrelevant.
But RSS isn’t dead – it’s still the backbone of services like ifttt and any serious content distribution.
